Datavard Helps Young Talents in Kenya Build a Better Future

Datavard supports the African Children Help organization, where 100% of funds go to empowering young talent in the poorest regions of Kenya.

Datavard is all about developing top-notch solutions and we take pride in our pro consulting services, but our real superpower is the people. We share common values and we look after each other, always ready to give a helping hand when needed. That’s why when one of our colleagues, Gerd Hagmaier, started a charity organization set out to help children from the poorest regions of Kenya, we knew we had to get involved as well.

The African Children Help is a charity organization that supports education of children who don’t have the means to finish the school on their own. They lack money to buy textbooks, to pay for the student housing, and often they come from incomplete families who they need to take care of. The educational fund covers part of the costs and helps young talents to realize their dreams and become doctors, teachers, or developers. Once they get a degree, they can land a job that provides for their families and helps them build a better future.

To support this initiative, we put piggy banks in our offices for our colleagues to donate. We also organized a charity auction where we bid for all kinds of things – from a home-made brownie to coaching sessions. The management board also promised to support our efforts and will triple the amount we manage to collect. Last year we ended up at 10,000 euro, which was just enough to support four young people through their final years of studies. We hope to do even better this year!
