SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Engagement Workgroup to Help Corporations Create Custom Solutions for Their Data Move.

Heidelberg, Germany and West Chester, PA – June 28, 2019 – Datavard, a recognized global leader in data transformation and solutions with a history of 20 years in SAP landscape transformation, will join SAP to form its inaugural SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Engagement Workgroup. The workgroup brings together select consultants with deep SAP S/4HANA data and systems expertise. The goal of the collective is to help large ERP customers accelerate SAP S/4HANA migrations.

“The SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Engagement working group adds a necessary third option to our SAP S/4HANA Move program for scenarios where market requirements make a mere re-implementation or system conversion impossible,” said Stefanie Kuebler, VP of Data Management and Landscape Transformation, SAP Digital Business Services.

She adds: “Our customers can be confident that the members of this working group to understand the opportunities and risks of a selective approach, to have expertise in this area, to continuously expand their knowledge and to share project experiences.”

SAP, who will moderate the group, joins Datavard along with the consulting firms cbs, Natuvion and SNP. Under the SAP S/4HANA Move program, the workgroup will actively collaborate and exchange customer use cases to gain a deeper understanding of both the challenges and opportunities for hybrid approaches to SAP S/4HANA migrations. The five members will publish from their collective analyses a series of infrastructure definitions and best practices to guide customers through specific data transformation scenarios. The workgroup will be expanded as needed in the future.

Three Steps to SAP S/4HANA with Datavard

Datavard has developed a three-step approach and continuously optimized it over the past months so that SAP user companies can switch from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA faster, easier and as automated as possible. The first step is to prepare the existing SAP ERP systems. This involves an end-to-end analysis of the systems, the adaptation of business processes and the verification of codes and test cycles. With an automatic in-depth analysis, the Datavard FitnessTest lays the foundation for a smooth transition to S/4HANA. The second step is to prepare the existing data for migration. For this purpose, they are analyzed and sorted by use. In this way, superfluous and unused data can be eliminated and/or archived. In this way, SAP customers reduce storage costs and achieve an appropriate system size. In the third step, the prepared data is migrated. Using proven SLO methods and techniques, Datavard can automatically transfer the relevant data from several SAP ERP systems into the new target system. The system landscape can be converted in just one weekend and the data can be migrated “on the fly” and without new hardware.

“With our well-proven approach, we offer corporate groups and large corporations a unique toolset and complete service for migration to SAP S/4HANA. In this way, we can optimally accompany them on their way into the new SAP age,” says Datavard CEO Gregor Stoeckler.
