For Tackling Thailand’s IoT and big data initiatives ‒ Datavard and Metro Systems Corporation join forces

Singapore/Bangkok (Thailand), January 8th 2018 – The German software and consulting company Datavard and Metro Systems Corporation (MSC), one of the largest IT solution provider in Thailand, signed a partnership agreement for joining their expertise in SAP HANA, big data management and predictive analytics to support SAP customers in digital transformation projects.

Being the second biggest economy in ASEAN, the Thai Government is investing strongly in digitalization and aiming to be an integrated, citizen-centric digital government within the next 5 years.  To achieve this objective and drive economic and social progress, digital technologies need to be incorporated into public services. At the same time, many companies in the private sector are also facing the challenge to find trusted partners who can enable them to use digital capabilities such as Internet-of-Things (IoT), big data or machine learning. In addition, the SAP client community is planning to upgrade their ERP to the new digital core, SAP S/4HANA.

In this context, the goal of the partnership is to provide a local end-to-end solution for Thai companies in their digital journey and help them to grow their businesses with the use of innovative technologies. “We are glad to have Metro Systems as our new partner in Thailand“, says Ekrem Namazci, Regional Managing Director, Datavard APJ. “Datavard’s expertise in the SAP data management world combined with the technical and analytical competence of Metro Systems in Thailand will be a unique constellation and a game-changing force helping Thai companies to become data-driven and digital”.

Aroon Tor-Ekbundit, President of Solutions Integration Group at Metro Systems Corporation: “Datavard will surely help us to continue our success in tapping into the fast-growing space of big data and SAP HANA. We are thrilled to have two market leaders set and ready for the future of Thailand’s digital transformation journey.”

The parties kick-started first initiatives during the signing ceremony at Metro-Campus, the state-of-the-art IT headquarter of Metro Systems. These include marketing activities and customer innovation events as well as setting up a co-innovation lab for future topics like Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and data science.
